You can use these reports to:

- Compare actual results to budget and last year
- Calculate metrics based on specific GL groupings
- View results by dimension
- Basic formatting edits to tailor the presentation to your preferences

This feature is ideal for finance teams looking for adaptable, self-service reporting within the platform.

## ABOUT MANAGEMENT REPORTS

The reports listed below use semi-fixed templates that can be customised to suit your organisation’s needs. Customisation is enabled through the built-in report customiser, which allows you to:

- Create and apply Finance Account Groups to control how accounts are grouped and displayed
- Add percentage-based calculations (e.g. variance, margin, etc.)
- Define how accounts aggregate within the report
- Apply basic formatting such as bolding, underlines, colours, and font styles

These options allow you to tailor the presentation of key financial data without needing to export or reformat outside the system.

Reports you can customise are:

- 310 - Fiscal report, 12 Months
- 313 - Period and Year to Date
- 314 - Statement of Accounts by Dimensions, 12 months
- 318 - Group balance with dimensional matrix
- 329 - Period and Year to Date by Customer
- 465 - Fiscal report, Year to Date Actuals

There are three steps to creating a new management report format:

1. Select your **preferred report**, from the ones listed above. This will inform how you want to customise your report.
2. Create your** finance account groups **to define the way you want to sum and show the various totals.
3. Create the format of your report in **finance reports configuration.** Allows you to define the report, which account groups to show, in which order, and add basic formatting (font, etc).

### Management Report Formats Available

#### **Statement of accounts by dimensions, 12 months (314)**

This is one of the most commonly used reports, as it displays selected accounts month-by-month across a financial year. You can also choose which dimensions to include for further analysis. Optionally, you can add a budget comparison to track performance against plan.

In this example, the ‘client group’ dimension has been selected.

## SETTING UP YOUR FINANCE ACCOUNT GROUPS

- In the **settings** module > open the **folders, reports & documents** sub menu > select **finance account groups**
- This is where you create the **different groupings** in your report. Each group represents a line on your report

![image-20250806-023336.png](media://f088b745-9792-4925-a0d4-b89bd80352ea)

There are 3 different options for the reporting line:

1. **Account sum** - calculates one or more accounts.

> 📝 **Note:** Accounts must be selected in a sequential range.

![image-20250806-035011.png](media://a1f38475-f4e5-4b9a-be16-a3198a0662ee)

![image-20250806-034340.png](media://90973b35-73f9-4ffd-9f39-a127bb95df35)

3. **Group divide** - divides one group total by another to return a percentage (e.g. profit margin or utilisation rate)

![image-20250806-035308.png](media://2e62531d-2339-4f24-b04e-e7f5f2e7f02b)

> 📝 **Notes:**
> 📝
> 📝 - **Reverse Sign** – flips the sign of the values, making credits positive and debits negative. If used, apply it consistently across all lines for clarity.
> 📝 - **Showing a Single Account** – use the Account Sum type and enter the same account in both the From and To fields to display it on its own line.
