In WorkBook, you can add **discounts or adjustments** to a price quote as a percentage of the total price quote or discount/adjust particular line items on a price quote. The net margin will update accordingly to reflect the discount or adjustment.

## APPLY % DISCOUNT ACROSS TOTAL PRICE QUOTE VALUE 

This method applies a percentage discount to the total price quote value at the time the discount is applied, therefore it does not recalculate if you add/remove rows or change values (simply delete the row and add the discount again in this instance). 

- Go to the **lines** tab of your price quote and click the **calculate and insert adjustments** icon

- Select the **method** of adjustment e.g. discount
- Set a **percentage** for the adjustment e.g. 10% discount
- Select relevant **activity**
- Click **ok**

> 📝 The discount can be applied to any activity, however the % applies to the PQ total value, not only to the value of the selected activity. It is therefore recommended to use an activity specifically created for discounts and adjustments.

- You may wish to create an additional phase, i.e. Discount, and move the discount line item here
- Activity text can be edited to add more information, i.e. 10% discount of the total budget

## ADJUST AN INDIVIDUAL LINE ITEM

- Select the **line item/s** you wish to adjust
- In the example below, printing is being charged to the client at $3,999.60 and we want to round it up to $4,000.00

- Any **additional income** you wish to charge the client should be added to the **extra **column
- In this example, we’re adding $0.40

## DISCOUNT AN INDIVIDUAL LINE ITEM

- Select the **line item** you wish to discount
- Add the **total amount **to be discounted in the **discount **column

- Click **enter** and this will apply the discount to the line item
